Net to produce morning show for satcaster
Court TV will produce a morning call-in show for Sirius Satellite Radio exploring the legal goings-on of the day, from big-deal trials to celebrities up to their ears in litigation.
The three-hour “Court TV Morning Radio” kicks off every weekday at 6 beginning March 20. Vinnie Politan, a news anchor for Court TV, is the host.
Show is the first exclusive-to-Sirius program produced for Court TV’s 24/7 channel 110, which otherwise exists to pick up the audio of Court TV, including trial coverage and series such as “Forensic Files,” “Catherine Cryer Live” and “Nancy Grace: Closing Arguments.”
Politan, an attorney who joined Court TV in 2001, will continue to co-host the network’s daily trial-coverage series “Bloom & Politan.”
Henry Schleiff, chairman-CEO of Court TV, said the ayem radio show will be able to draw on reports from the Smoking Gun Web site, and it will go out of its way to stir up “passionate conversations” between Politan and the listeners who call in.

Court TV chose Sirius over XM Radio despite Sirius’ lower subscriber base because “it’s hipper and cooler and has stars like Howard Stern. We want to add to Sirius’ HBO-like edge.”
